Michael Carrick's Manchester United made it three wins on the bounce with a thrilling win at home to Fulham thanks to a goal in stoppage time from Benjamin Sesko.

United went in front after a penalty decision was overturned by VAR, instead awarding a free-kick. From that set-piece, Bruno Fernandes found Casemiro who headed in his fifth goal of the season.

The home side remained in relative control over the course of the first half, with Senne Lammens being called to action on a couple of occasions.

Casemiro turned into provider for the second, finding Matheus Cunha with a sensational no-look pass, with the forward thumping it past Bernd Leno. Fulham had a goal disallowed for a very narrow offside, before they eventually halved the deficit thanks to an 85th-minute penalty from Raul Jimenez, after Harry Maguire was late into a challenge.

Kevin then produced a stunning strike in injury time, with Fulham then seemingly set to earn a point. However, Sesko came up with a magical goal, as Fernandes yet again found the Slovenian, who performed a quick turn and then rifled the ball into the top corner to make it 3-2 in front of the Stretford End.

Here are the player ratings from another brilliant afternoon for Carrick:

Senne Lammens 7

The Belgian made a couple of brilliant stops, include a sharp save to deny Harry Wilson from a free-kick. He dealt with danger very well, punching the ball out on several occasions. Could not have done much for the two Fulham goals.

Diogo Dalot 7

Started pretty nervy, but he grew in confidence as the match wore on, and dealt with Samuel Chukwueze brilliantly. Linked up very well with Amad and even found Bryan Mbeumo with a neat pass on one occasion.

Harry Maguire 7

Started alongside Lisandro Martinez again, and the Englishman produced another resolute display. Strong in the air and won practically every duel. Unlucky to concede the late penalty.

Lisandro Martinez 7

Made a number of brilliant challenges, including a crunching one on Jimenez. Looked solid in possession and very confident on the ball.

Luke Shaw 8

Excellent in and out of possession. Adventurous on the ball, constantly looking to push forward and occupy the space vacated by Cunha with the Brazilian drifting inside. Did not allow Fulham any space down his side.

Casemiro 9

An all-action display from the veteran. Opened the scoring with a fine header, before finding Cunha with a delicate, threaded through ball. His partnership with Kobbie Mainoo has been brilliant to watch, and he worked tirelessly, looking to constantly get on the ball. The man of the match, without a doubt.

Kobbie Mainoo 8

Fantastic throughout the whole game. Controlle the pace of the play and went into tackles with no fear whatsoever. Growing in confidence as each game passes.

Amad 9

A constant threat down the right. Should have got an assist when Sesko smashed the ball onto the post, but he was relentless down his side. Never slowed down and always looked to drive towards the opposition full-back, whether it was Antonee Robinson or Ryan Sessegnon.

Bruno Fernandes 8

At his creative and feisty best. Delightful free-kick to find Casemiro, and then got an excellent assist late on, setting up Sesko for the winner. Pressed tirelessly, and was always looking to create chances for United's forwards. 12 assists having played so much of the season deep in midfield is a sensational tally.

Matheus Cunha 7

Another tireless runner, drifting inside to support Mbeumo. Finished brilliantly from Casemiro's pass, and made another claim to start in the next match.

Bryan Mbeumo 7

Did not get much service, but his movement was a constant problem for Fulham's defence, with the Cameroonian repeatedly finding pockets of space. Had a good chance in the second half from Dalot pass.

Substitutes

Manuel Ugarte 6

Came on and provided plenty of running and security. A decent cameo.

Benjamin Sesko 8

An instant impact from the Slovenian. He hit the post with his first touch of the game, heading the ball from an Amad cross and then failing to convert the rebound. However, he held the ball up well and did fantastically to find the top corner with the finish for his winner.

Noussair Mazraoui 6

Came on late to help the team out, but probably should have done better defensively. Did well to drive the team forward for the winner.

Leny Yoro 6

A late sub to shore up the defence, and he did well alongside the rest of the backline.

Head Coach - Michael Carrick 8

A lot was said ahead of this game, with many saying that this was the match that Carrick needed to prove that United have turned the corner. And he did not disappoint. United looked adventurous on the ball and were always looking to attack. Fluid in possession and did very well to bounce back and get the winner. Carrick's willingness to put forwards on the pitch even with United in the lead will delight fans. Three wins on the spin.
