Rasmus Hojlund is pushing back against possible moves away from Old Trafford, with him believing he can get opportunities at Manchester United.
The Dane is one of the names reportedly on the way out of United, with Ruben Amorim bringing in new signing Benjamin Sesko for a hefty €85 million and supposedly favouring the Slovenian striker ahead of Hojlund.
In fact, Hojlund was an unused substitute in the final friendly of pre-season, remaining on the bench against Fiorentina, despite Amorim highlighting the lack of a focal point as one of the missing factors leading to the drop in performance following the match.
Hojlund has attracted plenty of interest, despite having two inconsistent seasons in Manchester, with a number of suitors, especially in Italy. AC Milan are reportedly the most keen on making a move for Hojlund, with the Rossoneri wanting a new striker for Massimiliano Allegri.
The Dane has been told by United that his playing time will be much more limited following the signing of Sesko, yet that has not kept Hojlund from making it clear that he wants to push for a place in the team.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Hojlund is convinced that he can have his chances at United, despite the significant competition that there is for the attacking spots, especially when considering that United do not have European football this season.
Hojlund reportedly wants to redeem himself after two seasons.
Milan Sporting Director Igli Tare flew to England to try and secure Hojlund's approval, yet he will not wait forever, with the Rossoneri having other targets on their list.
The 22-year-old appreciates Milan's attention, and has been vocal about his love for Serie A, yet he still believes that he can make his mark in the Premier League.
Additionally, Milan's offer seems to be a loan with an option to buy, yet Hojlund would prefer a permanent transfer if he had to move away from the club.
Hojlund's transfer value has dropped immensely since his arrival at Old Trafford, and while he still has a deal until 2028, just 26 goals in 95 games across two seasons has meant that he is now reportedly worth around €40 million, a huge drop off from the €77.8 million he moved from Atalanta to United for.
It is unfair to say that Hojlund has been a total disaster at United, as even though his performances have not been up to standard, he has not been helped by having the goalscoring burden in a poor United side all fall on him. Sesko has more players capable of contributing in goalscoring numbers, yet United will want to avoid having a similar situation, placing so much pressure to score on a relatively young forward.
