Manchester United ended the season on a high, securing a thumping 3-0 win over Brighton at the Amex, with Michael Carrick's side capping off their incredible turnaround in the second half of the campaign, with attacking brilliance.

United were confirmed in third place prior to the match, and Carrick opted to rotate parts of the side, but this did not stop them from having one of their best performances of the season.

Bruno Fernandes sealed his record-breaking 21st assist of the campaign midway through the first half after his corner found Patrick Dorgu, who thumped it off the crossbar and into the net. A few minutes later, United doubled their lead after a nicely-worked move between Mason Mount, Amad and Bryan Mbeumo, with the latter tapping home from close range.

United did not back down in the second half, and Dorgu turned from goalscorer to provider, with Fernandes getting in on the goalscoring action, firing home in front of the wonderful away support to make it 3-0.

Carrick's team kept pushing in search of more goals, but they were stopped by Bart Verbruggen on more than one occasion, and the score remained 3-0 to United at full-time.

Here are how the United players fared on the final day:

Senne Lammens 7

The Belgian had a few nervy moments at the start of the game, looking uncomfortable with his feet. However, he calmed down and looked much more composed, and while he was largely untroubled, he put on another solid performance.

Noussair Mazraoui 7

A much better display from the one he had against Sunderland, and he was combative defensively, while also looked to bomb forward whenever he could. Linked up well with Amad.

Harry Maguire 8

Faultless at the back yet again, and his performance was probably fuelled by anger at the fact he was snubbed for the England squad. He was in full control at the heart of the defence and kept Danny Welbeck quiet all game.

Lisandro Martinez 8

Together with Maguire, he was a brilliant performer in central defence. Looked excellent on the ball and made a number of incisive passes into midfield to get attacks started. Needs to build on this and go into the new season fit and in form.

Luke Shaw 7

Made his 38th Premier League start of the season, the first time he has started in all league games in a campaign, and he was formidable as he has been all season. Delivered another brilliant display down the left, looking to help Dorgu whenever he went forward.

Kobbie Mainoo 9

Brilliant in and out of possession. Dominated the midfield and was always picking the right option on the ball. He won plenty of tackles and the Brighton midfield could not handle him. Probably deserved to end the campaign with a goal.

Mason Mount 8

Started deep in midfield together with Mainoo again, and he delivered a much, much better performance than he did against Sunderland. He was excellent in possession and worked tirelessly, looking to win the ball whenever he could. Probably forced himself into becoming an option deep in midfield for next season.

Amad 8

A goal involvement to mark one of his best performances in months. A constant threat down the right and was probably unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Looked more like himself than he has done in recent games.

Bruno Fernandes 9

We have ran out of words to describe the United captain. Fernandes bagged his 21st and record-breaking assist of the campaign to make him the standout creator in Premier League history, while also getting his name on the scoresheet with a remarkable goal. The Premier League Player of the Season, and today was a clear showcase of his quality.

Patrick Dorgu 8

Back in the starting 11 for the first time since his injury, and he had a tireless display, running Brighton ragged. Got a goal after connecting to Bruno's corner, and he could have had more goals. Looks more like a left winger than a left-back at the moment.

Bryan Mbeumo 7

Had a relatively slow start, but he grew into the game as it wore on. Got his 11th Premier League goal of the season with a relatively easy finish from close range, finishing as United's top scorer. Looked like a threat with his link-up play.

Substitutes

Shea Lacey 7

Got a significant period of time on the pitch, and he was a threat down the right, looking nice and tidy with some good touches. Could have a more important role next season, or he may have possibly earnt himself a loan at another Premier League club.

Leny Yoro 6

Came on at right-back, and he looked comfortable with and without the ball.

Tyler Fletcher 6

Came on for a late run out, and he was solid.

Joshua Zirkzee 6

Could have made his final United appearance, and did not get on the ball enough.

Tyrell Malacia 6

His final match in a United shirt, and received a good applause from the away end.

Head Coach - Michael Carrick 9

His first game since being named permanent United head coach, and he delivered. United's best performance all season, looking dominant from start to finish, as he got the team spot on, even if he rotated some players. Gave some players a rest and others who have barely featured also started. The win took United up to 71 points for the season, with Carrick getting 39 of those. A brilliant turnaround.
