Manchester United produced a stunning display away to Liverpool on Sunday to earn their first win at Anfield in a decade, while also securing back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time under Ruben Amorim.

Bryan Mbeumo got United off to a perfect start, scoring after just two minutes following a collision in midfield led to Amad getting the ball before finding Mbeumo, who tucked it into the back of the net.

Liverpool tried to get themselves back level, with Cody Gakpo in particular being a dangerous player. However, United had chances of their own, with Bruno Fernandes hitting the woodwork and with a couple of nervy moments from Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Gakpo hit the post twice, before eventually finding the back of the net late on. The home side looked like they were going to get the winner, but United eventually came out on top as a Fernandes cross found Harry Maguire, who thumped it into the back of the net to earn his side all three points.

Here are the player ratings from United's sensational win on Sunday:

Senne Lammens 7

Played arguably the biggest game of his career so far, and he barely put a foot wrong. Made a big save on Alexander Isak in the first half, before making a number of relatively straightforward stops in the second half. Closed Mohamed Salah well in the second half to narrow the angle. Relieved any sort of pressure by always looking to go long.

Matthijs de Ligt 8

Dealt with everything throughout the game, looking fantastic aerially and was good on and off the ball. United's standout defender this season.

Harry Maguire 8

Started the match due to his experience and he repaid Amorim's faith to the full. Was not troubled during the match and was very solid. Came up with the all-important goal yet again, making his name in the starting line-up not as surprising as some may have thought.

Luke Shaw 7

Kept Salah very quiet, and also marshaled Isak throughout the encounter. While there were question marks on him, he looked very comfortable on the ball and instilled a sense of composure.

Amad 8

Sensational at times. Milos Kerkez could not handle Amad, and the Ivorian set up Mbeumo early on for the opener. Should have got another assist when Fernandes smacked the post, and was very unlucky to get a yellow card for a good challenge. Fought for the whole time he was on the pitch, producing a statement performance to shut up some of the critics.

Casemiro 7

Astonishingly started having played two full games for Brazil, and he did not look leggy at all. Oozed class and dealt with everything the Liverpool midfield tried to put him up against. Got a yellow card and was immediately substituted.

Bruno Fernandes 7

Captained United to a first win at Anfield since 2016, and while there have been doubts about his adaptability to midfielder, he looked great on Sunday, started the move for the opener, and then getting the assist for Maguire's winner. Had a 15-minute period where nothing was going right for him, but then produced a moment of quality before coming off.

Diogo Dalot 6

The weak link in the first half, having struggled on and off the ball. However, he bounced back and looked very solid after the break, particularly when he switched over to the right.

Bryan Mbeumo 9

Picked himself up after a clash in midfield, before getting on the end of Amad's ball to tuck away the opener. He was a constant threat in between Virgil van Dijk and Kerkez, and combined very well with Amad. Looking like a sensational signing for United.

Matheus Cunha 9

The best player on the pitch, especially in the closing stages. Constantly wanted to press and retained the ball very well for United. Helped link things up well, and also ran down the time in the final 20 minutes, bringing the ball forward and winning free-kicks. His first goal will come, but he is still offering this United side with plenty of quality.

Mason Mount 7

A tireless worker yet again, and while he was not involved as much as he has been in recent weeks, he did well to help the defence and also offer support to Casemiro and Fernandes.

Substitutions:

Manuel Ugarte 7

Came on and saw the game well. Gave United more legs in midfield and helped with the press.

Patrick Dorgu 7

Offered more of a threat going forward, but recovered well to also make some nice challenges.

Benjamin Sesko 7

Brought down the ball well and held on to it when needed. Offered United with a focal point.

Kobbie Mainoo 6

Brought on relatively late but helped United keep the ball and deny Liverpool space.

Leny Yoro 6

Came on to shore up the defence, and he helped United get the win over the line.

Manager - Ruben Amorim: 9

His starting 11 was under the spotlight having made a number of big calls, particularly starting Maguire and Casemiro, while also dropping Sesko. However, the changes worked wonders for United, with his side having a clear game plan to target the Liverpool defence, utilising the pace down the wings. Shifted to a more defensive set-up when needed, and his side followed his instructions well. Another big result for the manager, who finally gets back-to-back league wins.
