Manchester United finished their horrible 2025 with a shambolic draw at home to a Wolves side who recorded only their third point of the season.

United were off to a poor start, not controlling the match, but they took the lead thanks to a deflected Joshua Zirkzee shot that beat Jose Sa.

However, the away side got their equaliser right before the break as Zirkzee's clearance from a corner only found Ladislav Krejci, who headed it past Senne Lammens.

The second half was very even, with both sides having big chances, including some falling to Benjamin Sesko, and some to Tolu Arokodare. Patrick Dorgu thought he had got a winner in the 90th minute, after reacting quickly for a rebound, but the goal was disallowed for offside, and the match finished in a draw.

Here is how the players rated in the final match of 2025:

Senne Lammens 8

United's hero on the night. Made a couple of brilliant stops in both halves, with a stunning double save in the second half to claw the ball away from danger. Desperately unlucky not to come away with another clean sheet.

Lisandro Martinez 6

Not as clean with his passing as he usually is, and was getting bullied by some of the Wolves forwards at times.

Ayden Heaven 7

Came away with the ball before finding Zirkzee for the opener in the first half. Another solid showing from the young defender, who is continuing to grow in stature.

Luke Shaw 5

He was tested at times, but was also very, very slow on the ball, taking ages to distribute it and slowing the game down when United really needed to pick up the pace.

Diogo Dalot 5

Relatively anonymous when compared to his recent performances. Made a good block late on to deny Jhon Arias.

Manuel Ugarte 6

Relatively comfortable from the Uruguayan who battled hard but ultimately does not have the creativity to unlock defences.

Casemiro 5

Slow on and off the ball, with him having more of a responsibility to provide the cutting edge pass when Bruno Fernandes is not on the pitch. Visibly frustrated.

Patrick Dorgu 5

A strange decision to see him back on the left having impressed so much on the right against Newcastle. Delivered some nice crosses, and others that were catching practice for Sa. Scored late on but it was then ruled out for offside.

Joshua Zirkzee 5

Scored, but otherwise did not do anything else. Did not work hard enough to warrant coming out for the second half.

Matheus Cunha 5

Looked to make an impact against his former side, but he could not create the necessary space like he has done in recent matches. Needed to shoulder more of the creative burden, but did not do it well.

Benjamin Sesko 6

A night where he simply had to score. A bright display from the Slovenian, who was getting in all of the right positions, but he failed to find the back of the net. Had a total of six shots, including one that smacked the post, and a header that he should have done better with. A tireless runner, and the fact that he got in the right areas is encouraging, but desperately needs to score.

Substitutes

Jack Fletcher 5

A half-time substitute, and while he got on the ball more than he did against Newcastle, he was not that great with it.

Leny Yoro 6

Came on for Heaven in what was a relatively strange substitution, but did pretty well.

Bendito Mantato 6

Came on in difficult circumstances, and while he tried to make things happen, it is clear that he is still in need of development before making it in the first team.

Manager - Ruben Amorim 5

Strangely switched to a three-at-the-back again despite having so much joy from the four-at-the-back in recent weeks. The team lacked creativity and rhythm, which is understandable given the players that are out, but ultimately the team should have done so much better. Probably should have brought Shea Lacey on instead of Fletcher at half-time. Two more points dropped when United had the opportunity to move into the top four.
